A story of how our little nursery went to space this week - explore space activities for toddlers with Fun Box

We’ve been enjoying lots of outdoor play in the sunshine this week at Fun Box 🌞 From planting and water play to mark-making in coloured sand, the children have made the most of the lovely weather. With this in mind, we’re sharing why sunscreen for young children is so important and how we keep everyone safe while having fun outdoors.

This week at Fun Box, our Easter activities at nursery were in full swing as Nibbles the Bunny returned—bringing egg hunts, crafts, and spring learning to life.

Mother’s Day 2026 at Fun Box Day Nursery was celebrated with a special stay and play, cream tea and spring activities including planting, sensory play and outdoor learning.

World Book Day 2026 at Fun Box Day Nursery was a week full of imagination and storytelling. Children went on a bear hunt in the garden, explored messy porridge with Goldilocks, mixed colours with Pete the Cat, enjoyed outdoor story time and even tasted Paddington’s favourite marmalade sandwiches.

This week we celebrated Pancake Day 2026 and Lunar New Year through hands-on play and cultural exploration. From flipping pancakes and tasting toppings to making Chinese fans, exploring red envelopes, noodle sensory trays, and dragon art, children developed fine motor skills, creativity, and cultural understanding in line with the EYFS.

This week, the children explored the theme People Who Help Us, discovering real-life roles through hands-on play. They trained like firefighters, cooked like a chef, styled hair, fixed robots using tools, and explored hats and helmets. Through these activities, all EYFS areas came to life naturally as the children learned, imagined and worked together.

This November at Fun Box, children explored Remembrance Day through poppy crafts, number hunts and biscuit baking, followed by a heartfelt Children in Need pyjama day filled with Pudsey-themed activities.

This week at Fun Box Nursery, the spirit of Halloween brought creativity, curiosity, and connection. From pumpkin exploration to playful games, our children enjoyed hands-on activities that supported their learning and development—Halloween fun, the Fun Box way!

This week at Fun Box Day Nursery, our children explored All About Me through families, homes and community — discovering who they are and where they belong. Through creative play, storytelling and shared experiences, they’re building cultural capital, developing curiosity, confidence and a deeper understanding of the world around them. 🌍💛
