What does Elmer the Elephant teach children about emotional regulation? At Fun Box Day Nursery, we explored how stories, play and supportive relationships help children recognise, express and manage big feelings safely. Through colourful Elmer activities, emotional literacy games, messy play and storytelling, the children developed confidence, communication and resilience while learning that all feelings are welcome and that they do not have to manage them alone.

World Book Day 2026 at Fun Box Day Nursery was a week full of imagination and storytelling. Children went on a bear hunt in the garden, explored messy porridge with Goldilocks, mixed colours with Pete the Cat, enjoyed outdoor story time and even tasted Paddington’s favourite marmalade sandwiches.

This week at Fun Box Nursery, the spirit of Halloween brought creativity, curiosity, and connection. From pumpkin exploration to playful games, our children enjoyed hands-on activities that supported their learning and development—Halloween fun, the Fun Box way!
