Our Second Week at Fun Box – All About Me Nursery Activities 🙂✨

Our second week back at Fun Box was all about celebrating who we are — from our faces and bodies to our families and friends. These All About Me nursery activities gave children the chance to explore themselves and the world around them in fun, hands-on ways.

Studying our faces and emotions

The children began by studying their reflections in the mirror 🔍 and experimenting with creating their own faces using loose parts materials.

They then moved on to playdough 🎨, carefully shaping eyes, noses, mouths and ears on face templates.

Through this, we also explored emotions 😊😮😢 — the children discovered that by changing just a few features, their creations could look happy, sad, surprised or even a bit grumpy! They had great fun hunting for different emotions hidden in our sensory tray too.

Exploring Our Bodies Through All About Me Nursery Activities

From faces we moved on to bodies. With the help of our practitioners, we traced around the children and took turns labelling and colouring in the different body parts 🖍️. This was a wonderful opportunity to learn about ourselves in a memorable and interactive way.

All About Our Families

“All About Me” also includes the people who are most important to us — our families 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. As several of our children are preparing for, or have just welcomed, a new baby sibling, we practised caring for babies in our role play. From giving dolls a bath 🛁 to gently looking after them, the children showed kindness and tenderness that will no doubt make them wonderful big brothers and sisters.

Friends

Finally, we turned our attention to friendships 🤝. It has been heart-warming to see new friendships blossom and to watch the children practising vital social skills such as sharing, taking turns and looking after one another. These moments remind us how early relationships play such a key role in children’s development. 💛

It has been another busy and inspiring week at Fun Box. We can’t wait to continue exploring and learning together next week! 🌟
